I will start by saying that being a soldier is an a noble calling. I dare to say that the proudest moment of soldier’s is saving lives. Under the impulse of such thoughts, the nobility of the occupation thrill and stimulate them to the deeds of daring and even supreme sacrifice. That is what men and women in uniform do– no matter how great the challenge is– because they know that on the other side, there is always hope.
I have no idea what the families of soldiers go through in the absence of their loved one, but i do know one thing to be true. They have given the ultimate sacrifice which is pure and noble to our nation. I can only imagine this, children of soldier’s miss their father’s, wife miss their husband, parents miss their son’s and daughter’s. Above all, they all fear that one morning, they might get that call that their loved one have passed on.
In this time of Alshabaab war and in the memory of our fallen heroes, we must be mindful to do everything in our power to keep our troop safe as they keep us safe. We must do better to take care of their families, who sacrifice in ways to many to count. The roots of all goodness lie in the soil of appreciation for goodness.
I appreciate Kenya defense force.
